ANNOUNCEMENT...
December 27, 2024

Dear Patients,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to inform you of an upcoming
change which may affect your health care. After careful consideration, I have decided to close my practice in Mineral Wells, Texas. This comes with mixed emotions since
Mineral Wells has been my professional home for the past twelve years, and I have
truly enjoyed caring for you and your health. I will primarily be taking on an
administrative role with a company to improve healthcare policy. Our last day seeing
patients at this office will be January 31, 2025. Since your condition(s) may require
additional care, I suggest that you continue care with the following options:
Option A
At your request, you may remain under my care at my Azle location (limited hours)
909 SE Parkway Suite 102
Azle, TX 76020

Option B
You have opted to seek care at a location other than this practice. You may want to
contact Palo Pinto General Hospital for options including a new Wound Care Center
starting in 2025, your insurance company or primary care physician.
I will be happy to provide you or your new doctor with copies of your medical
records. Please call the office number at 940-325-4925 for your needs as this
number will not change.
Best wishes for your future health and happiness.
Yours Truly,

Candace Y. Covington, MD

Services
General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the pancreas, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, wound care, appendix, bile ducts, breast masses and often the thyroid gland.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Minimally invasive surgery is a surgery minimizing surgical incisions to reduce trauma to the body. This type of surgery is usually performed using thin-needles and an endoscope to visually guide the surgery.

Minor Procedures
Minor Surgery involves little risk to the life of the patient specifically: an operation on the superficial structures of the body or a manipulative procedure that does not involve a serious risk — in comparison to major surgery. Many procedures can be performed with an office visit, such as the removal of skin lesions, lymphomas and acute abscess drainage.
Testimonials
What’s Being Said
"Dr. Covington saved my life! I cannot say enough about how amazing she is! Not only does she know her medical/surgical stuff she has a wonderful bedside manner. A lot of physicians lack in that department. I wished I would have had my first surgery with her then maybe I would not have had a second that she had to correct! Thank you for taking care of me!"
Tanya H.
"They were very professional on both occasions when IÂ had to have surgery. They are also 2 very nice people too."
Sue M.
"I would recommend highly Dr. Covington. She takes the time you need to know what's going on. She talks to you like your somebody not a hello n goodbye doctor. She cares about her patients and her nurse Betty are the best ever! I respect both of them together; they are a team of good people..."
